Kayla infuses her work with a keen eye for human idiosyncrasies and observed details, often finding humor in the almost-absurd intricacies of everyday life.
Kayla's latest film, "When You Left Me on That Boulevard," made its debut at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the coveted Short Film Grand Jury Prize. Prior to this, her film "Learning Tagalog With Kayla" premiered to acclaim at SXSW, earning an Audience Award and subsequently gracing the screens of renowned festivals such as Palm Springs, Indie Memphis, Encounters, and Reel Asian.
