The Coles
The Coles
The Coles, an acclaimed directing duo based in Los Angeles, are celebrated for their contemporary storytelling which seamlessly blends strikingly cinematic compositions with nuanced performances. Their films transport audiences into meticulously crafted worlds, brimming with carefully developed characters and compelling aesthetics that convey a range of human emotions, all while gently pushing against the boundaries of reality.
Prior to joining forces as a dynamic sibling duo, Sophie honed her skills as a costume designer for films and commercials, while Walker immersed himself in the world of art dealing. This diverse background enriches their collaborative work.
They have since emerged as trailblazers with a rare ability to combine beauty, stylized realism, and comedy into their own unique art form, evident in their notable collaborations with Ford, NY Lottery, and Bank of America. In 2023, they directed the visual masterpiece “1901” for Hanes. Set against the backdrop of 1900’s Gilded Age society, The Coles meticulously ensured historical accuracy through painstaking production detail, while playfully injecting modern elements of dance and the music of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” Additionally, their work on a follow-up campaign for MGM Resorts with McCann New York earned them numerous awards, including a Silver Cannes Lions for their film 'Joy'.
