SANCTUARY SWEPT VIEWERS UP IN DREAMY TALES, ROLLICKING LAUGHS AND MORE
Founded in 2016 by production vet Preston Lee, Sanctuary has been around for a few years, but its steady drumbeat of notable work compelled us to single it out as one to keep a careful eye on. Brother and sister directing duo The Coles were behind McCann’s breathtaking films for Las Vegas’ Bellagio hotel. Our favorite was the exquisite, old Hollywood-style black and white stunner starring actor Jongman Kim in a dreamy tango with the hotel’s dancing fountain.
The Coles also shot a stylish new push for Marcus by Goldman Sachs and 72andSunny New York, starring Rosamund Pike.
Though just starting his directing career, Brandt Lewis was full of laughs on a Snickers spot that’s pretty much everyone’s nightmare about being on vacation and Mischief’s Tinder campaign reminding that the brand can help even the weirdest of weirdos find their somebody.
Cole Webley was behind a quiet, cinematic holiday tale from McCann that followed the tireless efforts of the United States Postal Service, “The Helpers.” Aaron Ruell stacked up the quirky comedy and plenty of pancakes for one of Droga5’s final spots with IHOP.
Last year, the company signed award-winning filmmaker Aisha Ford, whose film “Cherry Lemonade” premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. Ford went on to shoot her first spot for Dove and Ogilvy that debuted earlier this year, which supports the Crown Act and takes on hair discrimination experienced by young girls.
