Maïlis is a director, a psychology nerd, and a deeply committed Ratatouille defender (yes it's a perfect movie).
She makes films that explore the balance between strength and vulnerability and stick long after the final frame. Fueled by a sharp feminist gaze, her work cracks open the messy, beautiful, contradictory parts of being human and refuses to look away.
A collaborator by nature, a chaos-embracer by necessity, she's a firm believer that the best ideas happen when wildly different personalities are stuck in a room together. She tells stories for the people who don't usually get to be the story.
In 2024, she won a Young Guns and LIA Gold. Her work has shown at YDA and Clermont-Ferrand, and landed on Director's Library, 1.4, Shots, Vimeo Staff Picks, Girls in Film, and more platforms than she can name without sounding insufferable.
Growing up, she wanted to be a food critic. She's still not ruling it out.
