Noël Loozen is a Dutch film director, creative producer and writer based in Amsterdam, where he lives with his wife, two kids and two chickens. Trained in Photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and later at the Netherlands Film Academy, he has spent his career moving between short film, television, commercials and photography.

His short films established his voice early on: playfully absurd, indelibly human and charmingly unexpected. The Hornhunter was featured on Nowness, Spoetnik premiered at the Berlinale and became a Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week selection, and Botanica traveled to an explosive number of festivals worldwide, won awards, and racked up over 29 million views. His 50 minute film Limburgia also competed at the Dutch Film Festival, while his tragicomedy Drama screened as a standalone short in art house cinemas across the Netherlands as part of a commission with Cineville. His debut feature Toutes Directions, a tragicomic road film and a coming-of-age story set at the very end of life, premieres in Dutch cinemas in Autumn 2026.

Naturally, Noël’s one-of-one style and approach led him to collaborating with brands across Europe on mold-breaking campaigns – including Google, IKEA, Zalando, GLS, Odido, Das Handwerk, and the Vienna Tourism Board. His more recent foray into television led to the creation of Moonriders, a children’s show that received Cinekid and Best Dutch Series nominations. That success blossomed into the co-creation of a new series that is now in development with the same Dutch broadcaster, VPRO, called Metropia.
