Mary Dauterman is a Brooklyn based writer/director recognized for her ability to infuse the absurd with a distinctive brand of humor. Drawing on her background as an art director, Mary brings a stylized and offbeat visual sensibility to her work that’s rooted in performance and production design.
Mary recently debuted her feature and Sanctuary production "Booger" in 2023. The horror comedy premiered to acclaim at the Fantasia Film Festival with the support from the Tribeca Creators Market and Film Independent. Mary's short films have received numerous accolades, earning multiple Vimeo Staff Picks while screening at over 30 festivals, in addition to being featured on platforms such as Hulu and Vulture. She has written and directed projects for Adult Swim, published two kids books that aren’t for kids, and co-invented a viral beach accessory, The Tortilla Towel (TM).
A creative luminary with experience at esteemed agencies such as Wieden + Kennedy, Droga5, and CP+B, Mary's contributions have earned her recognition as an ADC Young Gun.
